Run With Hart

-
I heard there was going to be a celebrity coming with a Nike event to Kansas City this month so I had been checking social media and signed up on Thursday as soon as it opened up.  It was a free 5k run with comedian Kevin Hart.  He has been doing the runs in cities in conjunction with his comedy tour. No surprise Nike puts on a nice event.  Over 1000 people attended the 5k run Saturday morning in Brush Creek Park.  Kevin gave a fun talk to pump everyone up before and after the run.  He is really into an active lifestyle and inspiring others to do the same.

They had pace groups so it was pretty organized in getting everyone off.  There was a high percentage of people there who didn't run compared to other running events.  Kinda the point of the event, to inspire people to start living a more active lifestyle.

I'm a little slower than Kevin.  Apparently he runs closer to a 7 min/mile pace for a 5k.  I ran with the 8:00 pace group but according to my Garmin we were doing a 7:46 m/m pace.  Do Garmins work correctly at Nike sponsored events?

Stopped mid run to snap a pic of the run along Brush Creek.

Hanging out after the run with my stranger friend Kat.  Everyone got these awesome shirts pre run then Nike gave out water, fruit, Kind bars and sweat towels at the end of the run.  All Free and all fun! *First 3 photos also free photos from Nike.*
